A car with a 2-year-old girl inside was stolen from a north Nashville gas station on Sunday.

According to Metro police, it happened at the Citgo at 3050 Brick Church Pike.

The store clerk told News 4 the mother left her car running as she parked right outside the store entrance. She then came inside to buy a bag of chips.

A few moments later, the suspects pulled up and took off in the car with her child inside.

Authorities found the little girl in the 1000 block of Pennock Avenue. She was checked out by officials and was said to be in good health.

The mother's stolen car, which was a white Hyundai Elantra, was a rental from Hertz. It has yet to be located.

As for the suspects' car, it was left at the gas station and had been previously been reported as stolen.

Citgo security footage showed the suspects to be two black males, a white female, and possibly a fourth person.

The search for them is ongoing.
