Police have identified the man killed in a wreck on the westbound side of I-24 in Whites Creek just after 5 a.m. on Saturday
Officials say, Joshua Grams, 25, of Saindon Street, lost control of his 2005 Mazda 6 on the roadway near the Old Hickory Boulevard exit when he struck the back of a semi parked on the shoulder.
Grams was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lanes were closed for hours as police investigated the crash. The interstate opened around 10 a.m.
After their investigation, police determined that Grams was traveling at high rate of speed when he crashed. A toxicology report is still pending to determine if there were other factors that contributed to the crash.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
