The Kroger grocery stores in Davidson County made a school supply donation to the LP Pencil Box on Wednesday.

Teachers who have students in need can get supplies from LP Pencil Box without sacrificing their own paychecks.

“So many students will go to school without the supplies they need and what happens is teachers dip into their own pockets,” said Kroger spokesperson Melissa Eads. “We don’t want that and our customers and associates are so willing to give.”

Kroger calls the donations toolkits, inside is an assortment of supplies necessary for daily work.

About 1,000 boxes were dropped off on Wednesday.
