Officials are still working to find the body of a man who went missing at Dale Hollow Lake on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the TWRA, 53-year-old Sammy Bilyeu was on a personal watercraft when he crossed the wake of a jet ski and was thrown into the water near Mitchell Creek.
Two of the man's friends were in a different watercraft about 75 yards behind him but could not find him in the water when they approached.
TWRA officials said the Gainesboro man was not using his life jacket properly.
Rescue crews with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Rescue and the TWRA searched for Bilyeu's body on Wednesday but had to eventually call it off due to the depth of the water and the darkness.
Recovery efforts resumed Thursday morning.
TWRA officials said the incident remains under investigation.
