JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say a former corrections officer in Tennessee has been charged with assaulting an inmate.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says 47-year-old Jeri Dawn Patrick was working as an officer in the Sullivan County Jail when she assaulted a female inmate in March.
The TBI said Patrick then falsely documented details of the incident.
Patrick has been indicted on charges of assault and false reporting. She turned herself in to the jail and was booked on a $10,000 bond. The Associated Press could not immediately determine if Patrick has a lawyer to speak on her behalf about the charges.
