(Meredith) – Movie mogul Tyler Perry posted a video on Tuesday warning fans not to fall for any Facebook scams using his name.

In the 56-second video titled “Don’t Fall for Scams,” Perry said he’s not currently giving away anything on the social media site.

“I am not giving anything away on Facebook. I’m not giving away any money. My team has to shut down these things -- every day there’s a new one popping up," he said.

Several unofficial Facebook pages had been using the actor’s name to promote fake giveaways featuring cars, houses, cash and other luxury items. But Perry said he’s not behind any of them, and he wants his fans to be cautious.

“Do not give your information to any of these people. Do not give them anything,” he said, adding that he doesn’t know any of the people who are running these fake pages.

Perry ended his message by saying, despite all the misinformation, he’s still a charitable giver.

“In my life, I’m a giver. I give a lot of things to a lot of people, to a lot of employees… I do. But (the scams) are not true. Stop it, devil.”
