Police say they have found the SUV belonging to a man who was murdered in west Nashville earlier this week.

Daniel Shields, 30, was found dead at his apartment on Delaware Avenue on Tuesday afternoon. Officers at the scene said Shields' body had been there for several days.

Police found his body while they were conducting a welfare check. Shields' employer called police after not seeing him for several days.

Shields was last seen leaving the Trax bar on Ensley Boulevard at 9:30 p.m. on the Fourth of July. It's not clear if he left the bar with anyone.
