Metro Police say one of the victims of a shooting in north Nashville on Tuesday night has died. Two others were also injured in the shooting.
The shooting occurred around 8:00 p.m. at the 1300 block of Bellshire Terrace Drive. Neighbors initially believed the gunshots were fireworks. Police say they are not sure if this was a shootout situation, but they are not currently searching for a suspect.
All three victims were transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
Now, officials say 26-year-old Oscar Smith has died from his injuries at Skyline Medical Center.
The two other victims, 21-year-old Calvin Birdsong and 25-year-old Bruce Mallory remain hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials say a handgun was located near Smith at the crime scene. Police are still investigating the crime and have not identified a suspect, but say the community is not in danger.
