There will be no more waiting on hold to report a problem in Nashville.
The city is rolling out a new interactive app, giving you 24-7 access to Metro government.
Citizens can get help or report problems on just about anything.
If you’ve ever been frustrated about something like a pothole in your neighborhood and the city didn’t help you fast enough, your solution may be in the app.
Whether it was a broken fire hydrant or a dead animal in the street, problems in Nashville used to be pretty tough to solve. All too often people didn’t know which department to call or you couldn’t get the right person on the phone.
Now there’s Hub Nashville.
“From the outset we designed this to be used by the widest group of the population possible,” said Keith Durbin, Metro Chief Information Officer.
All requests come into the Hub headquarters.
You can report problems in public parks or issues with your trash and recycling. You can even submit a zoning request or report a property violation like an abandoned truck.
“Let’s say I’ve got a street light that’s out,” Durbin said while explaining the process to submit a report. “I want to start a request, I want to report an outage. If I want to add a picture of the light or the other service request, I can add it.”
Tips can be submitted anonymously.
The Hub will send out updates on how the request is being handled.
Metro officials said the idea is to solve problems efficiently, saving their time and energy, but more importantly, your time and energy.
“One of our goals is to meet our residents where they are,” said Durbin. “That means if you’re in your bed, you go on your mobile app, you’re on your tablet. We want to be able to interact with Metro government there.”
