From being in a cage at an animal shelter to being the face of a local high school.
Smyrna High School has a new mascot, a rescued 3-year-old English bulldog named Ace.
He will walk the halls at the schools during the school year and will be on the sidelines for home football games.
“It’s great for school spirit,” said Smyrna assistant principal Mike Messerly. “When the dog walks in the hall or in the classroom, it’s just sort of a stress relief. It’s almost like a comfort situation. It gives them a few minutes to pet the dog and forget they're stuck in school.”
You can follow Ace as he settles into his new home on his Twitter page.
